The production process of this material includes pre-oxidation, sintering, extrusion and internal oxidation steps, in which the content of cadmium oxide is about 10-20wt%, however, due to the adverse effects of cadmium and cadmium oxide on health and the environment, silver cadmium oxide materials are prohibited in some countries. In addition to silver cadmium oxide, there is also an environmentally friendly electrical contact material called silver copper oxide (AgCuO), which has high fusion welding resistance and is significantly better than silver tin oxide and silver nickel in the use of direct current contactors. Silver copper oxide can have a copper oxide content of 8%-15%, indicating that it is a more environmentally friendly option.
